Jamo Torsten Named 2014 CES Innovations Honoree
INDIANAPOLIS (November 14, 2013) - Jamo, a Klipsch Group, Inc. brand and European audio pioneer, today announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its Jamo Torsten, the brand's first-ever soundbar. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 29 product categories.
Serving as a two-way soundbar, Jamo Torsten utilizes soft-dome tweeters with Waveguide technology for distinctive, high-frequency detail, as well as long-throw woofers incorporating hard, conical-cone technology for extended bass response. Included with the soundbar is a 10-inch wireless subwoofer for cinematic, full-frequency sound. The subwoofer pairs automatically with the soundbar given its sophisticated wireless technology. For music reproductions, Jamo Torsten is equipped with Bluetooth® wireless technology for simple, wireless audio streaming from smartphones and tablets. The product's NFC pairing capabilities also allow for one-touch Bluetooth connection.
Jamo Torsten is designed to quickly connect to any television and its Digital Optical input ensures all home theater components can be connected. A built-in Dolby® Digital decoder accepts sound from the television and any Blu-ray player, cable receiver or gaming console that is connected to it while the product's remote learning capability enables control from an existing television remote.
"By forging decades of Jamo tradition with sleek, elegant forms representing Danish design, this soundbar presents universal appeal that signifies the product's ability to impact listening means and lifestyles," said Kerry Geist, a systems group product developer for Klipsch Group. "Jamo Torsten is our first high-fidelity soundbar and possesses the latest technologies in premium wireless audio to deliver the absolute leading product in the integrated home theater market."
The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
Jamo Torsten will be displayed in The Venetian at the 2014 International CES, which runs January 7-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
