A 702
Surround Speaker
Design
The A 702 is both capable and versatile. That makes it an ideal choice for use as left/right front speakers or as home theater surrounds. From their impressive sound reproduction to their great contemporary look, these are speakers that enhance any system.
Our decision to use premium-quality extruded aluminum profiles means that the A 702 front/surround speaker has an amazing presence. To obtain their finish, they are precision machined with robots and CNC mills; afterward, they are hand-polished and the surface is anodized for a speaker enclosure that looks absolutely stunning
With its high style and small, unobtrusive size, the A 705 integrates seamlessly with almost any home interior. And, since quality loudspeakers are our heritage, there's absolutely no compromise when it comes to sound.
With traditional speakers you usually connect the speaker cable to the speaker. Not here. The A 702 features an innovative bayonet socket, which means you simply connect the speaker cable to the included wall bracket or optional table-stand, then simply click the A 702 into place. The practical benefit of this arrangement is that you can move the speaker from the wall bracket in the living room to the table-stand in the kitchen without the hassle of having to connect/disconnect cables.
The supplied wall bracket for A 702 also allows the speaker to be angled horizontally, which means the sound output can be aimed precisely at the listening position. The compact, 2-way closed box enclosure is designed to provide maximum flexibility in system building. It can be used as a front channel or as a rear surround speaker. The A 702 used as rear surround speakers can be combined with the A 705 floorstanders, an A 70 CEN center-channel speaker and an A 70 SUB to create an elegant 5.1 home theater system. Or, partner them with an A 70 SUB to create a compact 2-channel music system. The choice is yours.
Technology
The A 702 is a 2-way closed box speaker. Using a co-axial drive unit—one where the tweeter is integrated into the mid/bass unit—ensures that the two drivers have the same acoustic center. That means that treble and bass frequencies will reach your ears simultaneously.
The other obvious benefit of using co-axial drive units is that we can keep the speaker size very compact, while still being able to deliver quite a sonic punch. To further improve the sound quality, the driver is firmly attached to the front baffle and is also clamped to the rear part of the cabinet, an arrangement that massively reduces unwanted vibrations..
The compact Jamo A 702 loudspeaker is packed with high-performance features:
- Multiple drive unit attachment points for reduced vibration
- A coaxial drive unit that sends all sound to your ears simultaneously
- A unique cabinet shape to reduce sound radiation inside the speaker
- Compact Neodymium magnets to concentrate magnetic force to the voice coil for cleaner sound
It may be small…but it provides big, full sound.
